Getting your website listed in the Search Engines

If your website is not listed in the search engines, then it's hard to be found. You can submit to the major search engines Google, MSN and Yahoo using their submit forms, or you can use a site submission tool.

Add your site to Google.

Add your site to Yahoo. You need to be registered with Yahoo, but it's free to sign up.

Add your site to MSN.

It's also worth trying to get your site listed in the open directory dmoz.org
Add your site to dmoz.org. Not all websites will be listed in this directory. You need to have worthy content!

You can use a tool to submit to search engines, but don't pay money for one unless it comes with a host of other optimisation tools. If you submit to the big 3, the rest will pick your website up anyway.

Alternatively, if you put a link to your website from a site which is already indexed, the search engines will pick it up very quickly and spider your site.
